Thorin Headcanon #5
Dís used to leave her two mischievous little dwarflings with Thorin from time to time, giving the lads a perfect opportunity to raise chaos. They’d run around the house - occasionally slamming themselves into a wall -, insist on braiding Thorin’s hair - which actually meant pulling it out -, latch onto his legs, demanding to be carried and basically do anything to make their uncle suffer. Once, he called for Dwalin’s help but instead ended up with three immature dwarves tearing his house apart.
[Dwalin fed them cookies when Thorin wasn’t looking.]
This is brilliant! Thank you. I love it because it’s sweet and completely plausible. hehehe
This week on ‘Richard Studiously Speaking On Tolkien’s Works’: Dwarves
#I have so many dwarf feelings you guys #among the strongest images in Silmarillion is the one where Aule their creator is about to be forced to destroy his beloved dwarves because their creation was forbidden #he wasn’t an all-powerful deity and the dwarves were never part of the plan and were created flawed but strong enough because it was a dark time and he wanted them to survive #they were created by a deity that was too eager to love and teach and share all he thought was worthwile in the world and for that they almost paid with their lives #it was mere mercy that averted their destruction and still they were forced to sleep until the elves were created first and the right to be perfected was denied from them #the elves were the creators’ Chosen but the dwarves were the Adopted #do you see why I love them so much #this is fiction gold
